Teaching Your Kids About Nutrition
From: Squishable Baby
Nutrition is important is important at all ages, especially as children develop.
Sometimes (let's face it, many times) kids make bad decisions. It is our job to teach them about food choices. And why they are made.
As a parent, you’re responsible for teaching your child almost everything about the world. What you teach them now will influence their choices for the rest of their life, and it’s a lot of pressure, especially when it comes to something as essential as nutrition.
Here are a few easy tips that will help you teach your children to make nutritious food choices all the way through adulthood.
Be a role model. Your children constantly observe you and look up to you. When they see their parents making nutritious food choices, they want to do the same.
Teach kids about “everything" related to the kitchen.
Let your child participate in selecting food. Take your child for a trek through the produce section at the grocery store, or even better, through a farmer’s market where they can connect with the grower. Kids may be way more excited to eat their carrots when they remember meeting the person who grew them.
